In July 2019, fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and adidas collaborated to release an updated version of the adidas Salvation sneaker called the Y-3 FYW S-97 'Black Scarlet'. This new design brings together the classic Feet You Wear technology with contemporary elements. The upper of the sneaker is made from Primeknit mesh and features suede and leather accents on the heel and forefoot. Adding a personalized touch, Yohji Yamamoto's embroidered signature can be found along the side and toe of the shoe. The midsole, which houses the adidas Boost technology, is showcased through cut-outs, providing a modern twist to the overall aesthetic.
