In 1985, during a Nike Europe tour, Michael Jordan caused a backboard to shatter with a powerful dunk while donning an orange, black, and white uniform. To commemorate this iconic moment and uniform, a sneaker named the 2015 Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' (also known as 'Shattered Backboard 1.0') was introduced. Following its success, in the Autumn of 2016, another sneaker called the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard Away' (also referred to as 'Reverse' and 'Shattered Backboard 2.0') was launched. This new version of the sneaker retained the black laces and Nike branding, but replaced the orange toe box and black accents around the toe and tongue with white counterparts.
