In 1985, during a Nike Europe tour, Michael Jordan made history by shattering a backboard with an incredible dunk while donning an orange, black, and white uniform. To honor this memorable moment and attire, the iconic Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' (also known as 'Shattered Backboard 1.0') sneaker was launched in 2015. Building upon the success of this release, a subsequent version called the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard Away' (also known as 'Reverse' and 'Shattered Backboard 2.0') was introduced in the Fall of 2016. While still featuring the trademark black laces and Nike branding, this updated edition replaced the orange toe box and black areas around the toe and tongue with a crisp white design.
