The Air Jordan 3 Retro 'Doernbecher' is a special edition sneaker that was released in July 2013. This unique design was created by Cole Johanson, an 11-year-old cancer patient at Doernbecher Hospital. The shoe has a Varsity Red diamond patterned upper, with black accents and red elephant print overlays on the toe and heel. It also features the words "COURAGE" and "STR3NGTH" on the insole, a black and metallic silver midsole, and an icy blue translucent outsole.
