In 2013, adidas collaborated with Opening Ceremony, a Manhattan-based fashion brand, to create a collection of Spring/Summer releases. As a part of this ongoing design partnership, they introduced the Opening Ceremony x adidas EQT Trail shoe, which drew inspiration from hiking aesthetics. The shoe reimagines a classic adidas silhouette, incorporating a suede upper and a removable neoprene inner sleeve. Notably, the design incorporates vibrant animal prints, linking it to the fashion trends of the 90s. The branding elements are subtly incorporated, with a debossed Trefoil logo on the tongue and an Opening Ceremony logo on the heel of the shoe.
