In 2003, Nike initiated a program at the OHSU Doernbecher Foundation to give hospitalized children the opportunity to design their own shoes. One young boy, Brody Miller, who was diagnosed with a brain malformation at the age of 11, had the chance to bring his superhero dreams to life by creating the Air More Uptempo GS 'Doernbecher' shoe. This unique sneaker showcases a blue nubuck upper with distinctive "BPM" lettering replacing the classic "AIR" on the side of the Uptempo. Additionally, the shoe features a full-length Air unit for exceptional cushioning and stylish red and yellow accents throughout.
