Tate Kuerbis, the designer of Jordan Brand, played a pivotal role in the development of the Jordan 18. He drew inspiration from the sleek aesthetics of the Lamborghini Murcielago, incorporating a carbon fiber accent on the midsole. To recreate the look of high-performance racing shoes, a rubber heel wrap was also added. The stitching above the midsole pays homage to the intricate patterns found on fine Italian dress shoes. The upper boasts a seamless leather application, complemented by an additional leather panel that conceals the quick-lace system. Notably, Jordan himself sported this particular colorway during his final season with the Washington Wizards.
