In 1985, during a Nike Europe tour, Michael Jordan made headlines as he shattered a backboard with a jaw-dropping dunk while sporting an eye-catching orange, black, and white uniform. This iconic moment and the distinctive uniform inspired the release of the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard' (also known as 'Shattered Backboard 1.0') sneaker in 2015. Following its success, in the Fall of 2016, the Air Jordan 1 'Shattered Backboard Away' (also referred to as 'Reverse' and 'Shattered Backboard 2.0') was introduced. This iteration retains the signature black laces and Nike branding, but substitutes the orange toe box and black accents around the toe and tongue with a clean white color.
