In July 2017, the ASICS Gel Lyte 5 'Mauve Wood' was released as part of the 'Pastel' pack, together with two other colorways. The upper of this shoe is made from soft suede and features perforations that aid in keeping feet dry, especially during extensive running or walking. To ensure breathability, the sockliner is designed with a mesh build, while a conventional lacing system provides a secure fit. The toe and heel of the shoe display coral accents, and the midfoot is supported by magenta and grey branded paneling. Additionally, the FluidRide midsole technology incorporated in the shoe provides energy return to the wearer's stride.
