The exclusive GEL Lyte III collaboration between Tokyo sneaker retailer KICKS LAB. and ASICS, known as the 'Hikeshi Hanten,' draws inspiration from traditional Japanese fireman's coats worn in the 20th century. These coats were made of durable cotton that was soaked in water to shield the wearer from the intense flames. Typically, they were adorned with indigo and red pigments and featured distinctive designs representing the local fire brigade. Taking cues from this heritage, the special edition sneaker showcases a navy, red, and white upper crafted from high-quality leather and suede. It also includes custom footbeds and unique Kanji-graffiti style artwork on the outsole, created by renowned Asics partner Sneakerwolf.
