In November 2019, Capcom and ASICS joined forces to pay tribute to their shared Japanese heritage through a special collection inspired by Mega Man. This collection featured the Gel BND sneaker, which drew inspiration from Rockman, the Japanese name of the iconic character. Crafted from blue synthetic patent leather, the sneaker showcased pixelated stripes reminiscent of the original 1987 video game. The left shoe's tongue was adorned with Katakana symbols, further symbolizing the Japanese influence. Adding to its unique design, a text graphic could be found on the heel. The Gel-cushioned midsole and rubber outsole of the sneaker were also ingeniously designed to resemble the robot's metal feet. This collaboration beautifully captured the essence of the Mega Man franchise while incorporating elements of Japanese culture and fashion.
