adidas drew inspiration from their initial NMD R1 colorway for the creation of the NMD XR1 'OG' sneaker. This sneaker boasts a black upper reminiscent of the original NMD R1, along with the blue and red EVA plugs. What sets the NMD XR1 'OG' apart from the NMD R1 'OG' is the addition of a black TPU cage on the midfoot and a Primeknit upper, in contrast to the mesh upper of the original. On May 20, 2017, the NMD XR1 'OG' was made available in stores.
