Since the passing of his cherished Aunt Pearl due to breast cancer, Kevin Durant has shown unwavering dedication towards bringing attention to women's cancers. Demonstrating this commitment, in 2019, Nike collaborated with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to produce the Nike Zoom 11 KD 'Aunt Pearl' sneakers. In a heartfelt tribute, the insole and exterior heel counter of these shoes are adorned with the names of 59 brave breast cancer survivors. Furthermore, the Flyknit upper is prominently displayed in pink, the color symbolizing breast cancer awareness. To fully honor this cause, the midsole is also presented in pink, beautifully complemented with delicate white accents.
