The wavy pattern that appears on the Air Max 97 when viewed from above was intentionally designed by Christian Tresser, the original designer of the AM97. Tresser found inspiration for this unique design feature in a puddle of water. The 'Khaki' edition of the Air Max 97, released in February 2018, maintains the distinctive 'ripple' look while incorporating a more subdued colorway of Khaki and Light Bone. The upper of the shoe is made of breathable mesh and synthetic materials, while the Air Max midsole provides exceptional cushioning. Additionally, the gum rubber outsole ensures that the 'Khaki' edition keeps up with the performance of its AM97 predecessors.
