The Tom Sachs x NikeLab Mars Yard 2.0 was first released during Tom Sachs' Space Camp event on Governor's Island in New York City in June 2017. To purchase the sneakers, participants had to complete ten mental and physical challenges. The design of the shoe was influenced by Sachs' interactions with NASA scientists and features an Off-White mesh upper, maple colored nubuck panels, a Sport Red Swoosh, and red pull tabs on the heel and tongue. Additionally, the shoe includes two insoles made of mesh and cord, with the cord insole specifically designed for sockless wear. Limited edition versions of the Mars Yard 2.0 were also made available through an online raffle in July 2017.
