The Clark Atlanta University x Nike Dunk Low ‘Panthers’ is a part of a larger HBCU-inspired collection, with its design by Heather Lynn Haynes. This shoe pays tribute to the first HBCU founded in the Southern United States, Clark Atlanta University. The leather uppers of the shoe feature asymmetrical color blocking in the signature hues of the university: black, grey, and red. The Panthers logo is displayed on woven tongue tags, while the heel tab is embroidered with the year 1988, marking the consolidation of Atlanta University and Clark College. The laces of the shoe have the institution’s motto, ‘Find a Way or Make One,’ printed on them. The shoe’s cupsole tooling includes a translucent rubber outsole that reveals a large Panther graphic underneath when you look at the bottom of the shoe.
