The Nike Air Presto X Doernbecher Freestyle takes a minimalist approach to the classic runner, with the aim of creating a more simplistic and clean design. This particular sneaker is part of an annual collaboration between Nike and the Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Each year, the hospital works with patients to create a unique collection, with the goal of raising both spirits and funds for the hospital. In the case of the Air Presto X Doernbecher, it was designed by Joe MacDonald, a cancer survivor. The 'Wolf Grey' edition, released in September 2017, features a graphic print bootie without the characteristic lacing and cage. Instead, an extended tongue has been included to facilitate easy entry, while contrast TPU heel and toe guards provide added support and durability. The shoe incorporates an Air-Sole unit and a flexible rubber outsole, delivering the same comfort and feel as the original design.
