Every year, Nike collaborates with the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation to produce the Doernbecher Freestyle collection. This initiative involves patients designing a unique Nike shoe in order to raise funds for the Foundation. The Nike Air Force 1 07 LE DB sneaker, which was released in December 2010, was created by Tony Signorelli, who was only 11 years old at the time and had been diagnosed with Dandy-Walker Syndrome. Signorelli's design features a striking, two-tone leather upper and a textured, metallic gold treatment on the Swoosh and heel. As a personal touch, his inspiring mottos "Think Positive" and "Positive Happens" are printed on alternating toe boxes.
