The 1988 Tinker Hatfield Air Jordan 3 sketch, which displays Hatfield's innovative concept of incorporating a Nike swoosh on the side, transitions from a mere idea on paper to a tangible reality. However, this unique edition diverges from the final Air Jordan 3 design as the Nike swoosh and stitched NIKE logo on the lateral and medial profiles respectively, were omitted to achieve a cleaner aesthetic. In a special tribute to the designer on his birthday, the Tinker version showcases Tinker's signature through stitching on the tongue, as well as on the box top and hang tag.
