In 2014, Jordan Brand unveiled two new sneakers, namely the Air Jordan 1 Retro 'Barons' and the Air Jordan 9 'Barons,' which were a tribute to Michael Jordan's baseball career with Alabama's Birmingham Barons. Following these releases, the Air Jordan 13 Retro 'Barons' was introduced six months later, making it the first Air Jordan 13 to showcase a shiny patent leather mudguard. Additionally, this particular version of the sneaker also featured white quilted leather overlays and Wolf Grey tumbled leather at the toe. Even in an infant-sized version, this sneaker paid homage to Jordan's baseball journey while maintaining its signature style.
