In March 2017, Nike brought together a group of eight young 'Imaginairs' at their headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. Their purpose? To collaborate on the design of Air Max Zero colorways specifically tailored for grade school sizes. One notable colorway within this collection was conceived by Sam Gordon, a young football prodigy who gained widespread attention after her father uploaded a video to YouTube showcasing her exceptional skills on the field, outperforming her male peers in a youth football league. Sam's design boasts a combination of white and grey on the upper, enhanced with metallic silver overlays and a gold Swoosh. Additionally, the shoe features a white sock-like inner sleeve, a white midsole, and a pastel blue Air Max unit with a corresponding rubber outsole. This particular colorway, along with others designed by Annie Leblanc, Lincoln Markham, Mark Thomas, Sulivan Gwed, Kaycee Rice, Mademoiselle Garcia, and Wang Junkai, was released in January 2018 for grade school sizes.
