In 1999, Nike collaborated with NBA point guard Gary Payton to create the Nike Zoom GP. Recently, in 2019, a Retro edition of the shoe called 'Canyon Gold' was launched, paying homage to one of the original colorways. The upper of the shoe is made of nubuck and synthetic leather, and the defining feature is the shroud adorned with a Canyon Gold-bordered Swoosh, which is fastened with a buckle on the lateral side. To enhance performance, the shoe is equipped with Zoom Air cushioning and a carbon fiber midfoot shank, providing excellent responsiveness and stability.
