In collaboration with HUF, Nike introduced the Nike Air Trainer 1 SB 'Gold Digger' in 2005 as a continuation of their successful partnership, following the release of the iconic tie-dye Dunk. While the previous shoe embraced the spirit of San Francisco's hippie movement during the Summer of Love in 1967, this new pair draws inspiration from an even earlier era, specifically the California Gold Rush of 1848. The design of this retro trainer showcases a brown leather upper with vibrant red and orange accents, creating a striking contrast. Adding to its unique appeal, the collar and toe box feature open brown mesh, revealing a metallic gold underlay. Adding a special touch, the lateral heel is adorned with an embroidered graphic, combining the initials 'SF' with a crossed pickaxe and shovel, paying homage to the historic event that inspired the shoe's design.
