The Social Status x Nike Air Penny 2 'Playground' is a continuation of the successful collaboration between the retailer and Nike that began with the Air Max Penny 1 in July 2022. This new release comes in two colorways, with the 'Black' edition paying homage to Penny Hardaway and his iconic Orlando-inspired release from 1996. The mid-top sneaker features a black nubuck upper, complemented by powder blue accents on the molded eyelets and textile collar lining. The tongue is adorned with Penny's signature jeweled 1 Cent logo, while a reflective pod on the lateral collar proudly displays the dual Swoosh and Social Status branding. The shoe is equipped with a lightweight Phylon midsole, incorporating forefoot Zoom Air cushioning and a bubblegum pink Max Air heel unit. To enhance the overall experience, the shoe is packaged in special packaging inspired by the popular Lil Penny toy.
