The Nike Kyrie 3 'Mamba Mentality' was released in September 2017, taking inspiration from Kyrie Irving's experience as a 17-year-old at the Nike Extravaganza in California, where he wore a Kobe 5 colorway. This particular Kobe 5 colorway was influenced by Bruce Lee's iconic yellow and black jumpsuit from the 1978 movie 'Game of Death'. In honor of Kobe Bryant, who was both a friend and mentor to Kyrie, the shoe features a yellow and black upper with a snakeskin-inspired pattern on the medial side and a Samurai pattern on the lateral side. Furthermore, the shoe pays homage to Bruce Lee with four red scratch marks on the side panel, reminiscent of the scratches he received in the final fight of his 1973 movie 'Enter the Dragon'.
