In 1992, during Michael Jordan's Olympic preparations in Barcelona, Tinker Hatfield was busy creating various color variations for the Air Jordan 7 collection. Tinker graciously allowed Jordan to select and wear his favorite colorway, which eventually became the iconic Air Jordan 7 'Olympic' sneakers. The other color variations that Tinker had designed were put on hold until 2016, when they were finally released as the 'Tinker Alternate' edition to commemorate the Olympics in Rio. The Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Tinker Alternate' showcases a striking color combination of white and blue, with a distinct block pattern on the upper. Notably, these sneakers stand out as one of the few Jordan models to prominently display Jordan's Olympic jersey number, '9,' on the heel.
