Since its debut in 1988, there have only been three additional releases of the Air Jordan 3 Retro 'True Blue' in 2001, 2009, and 2011. The release in 2011 was particularly significant as it marked the 23rd anniversary of the shoe. This iconic sneaker gained popularity again when Michael Jordan made his second return to the NBA, this time playing for the Washington Wizards. It regained the spotlight in 2003 when Kobe Bryant wore it during the All-Star Game. Unlike the original version, this non-OG retro release features the Jumpman logo on the tongue and heel section.
