Released in early July 2019, the Nike Huarache Extreme GS 'White Black' presents a modified version of the iconic design aimed at children. While the neoprene bootie, inspired by water-skiing and created by Tinker Hatfield for the original adult model in 1991, remains unchanged, noticeable alterations have been made to the upper overlay and back heel band. These components have been replaced with an adjustable midfoot strap, allowing for a more convenient on-and-off experience. Additionally, the shoe features a breathable mesh forefoot, reinforced at the toe with synthetic skins created without traditional sewing techniques. The soft foam midsole further enhances comfort by providing ample cushioning from underneath.
