The ASICS MetaRide AMU has undergone a transformative design process at the hands of esteemed Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma. Fusing his expertise in traditional bamboo craftwork with modern aesthetics, Kuma has created a visually captivating sneaker. In December 2019, this unique creation was unveiled, showcasing a construction of white technical knit material enveloped by intricately woven synthetic strips. These strips seamlessly integrate the draw-cord lacing system and logo stripes, resulting in a harmonious blend of form and function. Notably, Kuma's affinity for unconventional material choices is evident in the inclusion of a wood-derived layer, which sits between the rubber outsole and FlyteFoam-cushioned midsole.
