In 2013, St. Alfred, a boutique located in Chicago, collaborated with ASICS to create a special edition of the Gel Lyte 3 sneaker. This version of the shoe draws inspiration from the picturesque water and beaches found along Chicago's lakefront. The upper of the sneaker is crafted from olive suede and showcases intricate perforated detailing on the toe and quarter panel. Despite the contemporary design elements, the shoe retains the classic split tongue design characteristic of the Gel Lyte 3.
