The UltraBoost 2020 collection, a collaboration between adidas and NASA's ISS US National Lab, was launched in December 2019 with the objective of testing its performance in outer space and contributing to future innovations. Specifically, this version known as Solar Red is specially designed for zero-gravity, incorporating features such as a reinforced toe and neoprene heel to enhance its performance in this unique environment. The updated Three-Stripes cage and heel frame of the shoe are adorned with iridescent detailing, adding a touch of visual appeal. Despite these modifications, the UltraBoost 2020 still retains its signature features, including the dual-density Boost midsole and rubber outsole.
