The NMD_R2 was unveiled to the public in Summer 2017 during Paris Fashion Week as part of the adidas Originals x White Mountaineering SS17 collection. Unlike its predecessor, the NMD_R1, the NMD_R2 features a full-length boost midsole without the foam inserts on the lateral side. One of the colorways available for women is Utility Ivy, Footwear White, and Trace Green, which showcases a monochromatic green upper with a polka-dot pattern that extends to the leather strip at the heel. The tongue of the shoe includes adidas branding, while the heel pull tab features the NMD logo. This particular dark green colorway was globally released by adidas retailers in April 2017.
